  2. Dear Shareware Vendor....

  4. Welcome to the 14th (September 30, 1995) edition of the JCS Distribution
  5. Author to Vendor (A2V) CD-ROM!
  6.  
  7. We have been so active processing new and updated programs (135 programs, 
  8. the work of 49 authors), we have not changed features in this edition.
  9.  
  10. We have also implemented jcsm.com, our internet home.  Stop in and see us!
  11.  
  12. To keep the size of this file at a minimum, other files are available in the 
  13. main directory:
  14.  
  15.    REQFIXES.TXT    -  Requests for features/fixes.  We will review each
  16.                       of these and get them to the NEWFEATS,TXT as soon as
  17.                       possible.
  18.    BESTOF.TXT      -  Description of our spin-off, for sale to end users,
  19.                       "Best of the Author to Vendor".
  20.    CLASSDIR.TXT    -  Roadmap to our new directory structure
  21.                       
  22. The CD-ROM contains: 
  23.  
  24. a) Class subdirectories, which contain FILES.BBS and LFILES.BBS files (and 
  25.    now FILES.PCB and LFILES.PCB files for those who need the date format 
  26.    with "-", rather than "/") for those who wish to directly mount the 
  27.    CD-ROM.  Of interest, the main directory also contains a FILES and 
  28.    LFILES directory for your convenience.  For those wanting a single 
  29.    file directory, an ALLFILES.TXT and a LNGFILES.TXT file is also available.

  31.    LAST ISSUE, we have renamed all of our directories.  See CLASSDIR.TXT 
  32.    for details.

  35. b) A file access routine for disk vendors and user's groups.  If an author
  36.    has included a version for vendors, and another for BBSs, the access 
  37.    routine now allows the user to UNZIP the appropriate version.
  38.  
  39. c) As a courtesy to the Author, and for the convenience of the using
  40.    vendor, we have included various SCREEN SHOTS 
  41.    supplied by the author.  These files are available for UNZIPPING and 
  42.    use as the user sees fit.  They are most easily accessed thru the 
  43.    access routine JCSD.EXE
  44.  
  45. d) A directory "VBRUN" which contains all three VBRUNXXX files required by
  46.    some windows programs.
  47.  
  48. e) To accomodate those vendors who are also authors, we have published a 
  49.    set of files in the Business catagory called 
  50.    "2300+ Shareware Vendors".  The files contain the addresses of over 2300
  51.    vendors to whom we have sent a CD for at least one of the last 3 issues.
  52.    It also contains data on how to send programs to us for publication in 
  53.    the A2V.

  57. To use the CD-ROM, two options are available......
  58.  
  59. 1.  Simply run from the CD-ROM, as is, by:
  60.  
  61.   a:  Make the CD-ROM drive the current drive.
  62.  
  63.   b:  Execute the program JCSD.
  64.  
  65.   c:  Follow the prompts.
  66.  
  67. 2.  Install the programs and files to your hard disk directories by:
  68.  
  69.   a:  Make the CD-ROM drive the current drive.
  70.  
  71.   b:  type INSTALL x y where:
  72.  
  73.            x is the hard drive to which you want to install.
  74.            y is the drive code of your CD-ROM drive.
  75.  
  76.            NOTE:  DO NOT include the ":" with the drive letters
  77.  
  78.            example:  INSTALL C F
  79.              will install the files to the C: drive from the F: drive.
  80.  
  81.            a subdirectory \JCSD will be created and about 5.0 mb
  82.            copied to it.  You will be left in the directory created.
  83.  
  84.   c:  Execute JCSD
  85.  
  86.   d:  At later points, to execute the program, CD \JCSD, and 
  87.         execute JCSD.

  89. Enjoy the programs, and explain to your customers the requirement to 
  90. register the programs found useful!  The authors whose works are 
  91. contained have paid for the distribution service, and appreciate your
  92. efforts to get their shareware into the hands of individuals who will
  93. register the programs.

  95. Each of the next issues of the A2V will be accumulative, with the previous 
  96. issue used as the basis for the new issue.  New programs will be added, 
  97. and updates will replace previous versions.
